Accessibility Statement
Esser Financial is committed to ensuring our AI-powered financial chat tool is accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities. We believe that access to financial information and tools should be equitable and barrier-free.
1. Our Commitment
We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.
2. Conformance Status
Esser Financial is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to improve conformance across all features.
3. Measures We Have Taken
To support accessibility, Esser Financial has implemented or is working toward the following:
3.1 Keyboard Navigation
- All interactive elements (chat input, send button, navigation) are accessible via keyboard without requiring a mouse
- Focus indicators are visible on all focusable elements
- Logical tab order follows the reading order of the page
3.2 Screen Reader Compatibility
- Semantic HTML is used throughout the interface
- ARIA labels and roles are applied to interactive components
- AI chat responses are rendered in a live region that announces new content to assistive technology
3.3 Visual Design
- Color contrast ratios meet WCAG 2.1 AA minimums (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- Information is not conveyed by color alone
3.4 Forms and Authentication
- Form fields are programmatically associated with their labels, so assistive technology announces the correct name for each control
- Error messages are descriptive and identify the field in error
- Authentication forms are compatible with password managers and browser autofill
In our July 2026 review we measured the contrast ratio of every text colour in the interface against the backgrounds it appears on, and raised those that fell short — including the colour used for small print such as risk and billing disclosures — so that body text meets the 4.5:1 minimum. Large decorative artwork in empty states is intentionally low-contrast and is always accompanied by a readable heading and description.
4. Known Limitations
We are aware of the following areas where accessibility improvements are in progress:
- AI-generated responses containing complex financial tables or charts may not yet be fully accessible to screen readers. We are working to implement accessible data presentation formats.
- Some dynamic content loaded during chat sessions may not be fully announced by all screen reader configurations. We are actively testing and improving ARIA live region behavior.
- The onboarding tutorial (when implemented) will be built with full keyboard accessibility and screen reader support from the outset.
5. Our Assessment Method
Esser Financial is built and reviewed against the technical requirements of WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Our assessment to date is based on code-level review and automated checking rather than a formal audit, including:
- Semantic HTML structure, with form controls programmatically associated with their labels and interactive controls given accessible names
- Visible keyboard focus indicators, a documented tab order, and a skip-to-content link
- Support for reduced-motion preferences, and colour choices reviewed for contrast
We have not yet completed a formal third-party accessibility audit or systematic end-to-end testing with screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS or VoiceOver. We describe our status honestly rather than claim conformance we have not verified. If you use assistive technology and encounter a barrier, please tell us using the contact details below — reports from real users are the most valuable input we receive, and we prioritise them.
6. Technical Specifications
Esser Financial relies on the following technologies for conformance:
- HTML5 with semantic markup
- CSS for presentation and layout
- JavaScript for interactive functionality
- ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) for dynamic content
7. Feedback and Contact

9. Assessment Approach
Esser Financial assesses accessibility through:

- Periodic review when significant new features are released
We intend to conduct a formal third-party accessibility audit before the launch of paid subscription tiers.
10. Formal Approval
