Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 31, 2026

Last Updated: July 31, 2026

Applies To: esserfinancial.org and all associated services

Esser Financial LLC, a Florida limited liability company doing business as "Esser Financial" ("we," "our," or "us"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our AI-powered financial chat tool. Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of our service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

1.3 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect Social Security numbers, government-issued ID numbers, bank account numbers, or your brokerage login credentials. When you use the optional brokerage connection described in Section 1.4, you authenticate directly with your brokerage through our integration partner — your brokerage username and password are never transmitted to or stored by Esser Financial. Esser Financial is a research tool, not a financial institution, and cannot move money, place trades, or modify anything in your financial accounts.

1.4 Brokerage Connection Data (Optional)

Premium subscribers may optionally connect a brokerage account to automatically import their investment holdings. This feature is powered by SnapTrade (Wealthica Financial Technology Inc.), a third-party account-aggregation service, and is strictly read-only. If you choose to connect a brokerage:

Data processed by SnapTrade is subject to SnapTrade's own privacy policy. We encourage you to review it before connecting an account.

2. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for third-party advertising.

3. AI-Generated Content and Your Queries

What is sent to the AI. Our research and chat features are powered by large language models operated by Anthropic, PBC. To answer you usefully, we send more than just the message you type. Depending on the feature you use, the request may also include: your portfolio holdings — ticker symbols, number of shares, average cost, and current value; the sectors you are invested in; your stated risk tolerance, time horizon, investing style and experience level; any watchlist thesis or notes you have written; and publicly-sourced market data about the tickers involved. We do not send your name, email address, password, or payment details.

How Anthropic handles it. Data sent through Anthropic’s commercial API is not used to train their models. It is processed to generate your response and handled under Anthropic’s own privacy policy and data-processing terms.

Please still avoid pasting sensitive identifiers — account numbers, Social Security numbers, or passwords — into any chat or research field. Nothing in our service requires them.

Where your chat history lives. Your conversation history is stored locally in your own browser (in that browser’s local storage on the device you are using). We do not store your chat history on our servers, and we cannot read past conversations. Because of this, we are not able to delete a chat history on your behalf — it is removed when you sign out on a shared device, use your browser’s “clear site data” control, or use the Clear All Data option in Settings. Individual requests you send are processed by Anthropic to produce a reply, as described above.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), our legal bases for processing your personal data are:

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

5.3 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on our site before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the service. We may retain certain data for longer periods where required by law or legitimate business purposes (e.g., transaction records for tax compliance). However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
